How to make a certificate or letterhead PDF
A simple certificate can recognize participation or completion without needing a design application. The same tool also offers a portrait letterhead layout for a business letter. Choose the layout that matches the document before entering its content.
Open Certificate and letterhead maker ↗Step-by-step instructions
- Choose Certificate or Letterhead.
- Enter the organization, title, message, date and optional signatory.
- Generate the PDF and review names and page layout.
A practical example
For a workshop certificate, enter the organization, “Certificate of completion” as the title, the participant’s name and a short description of the completed activity. Add a date and an optional printed signatory name. For a letter, choose Letterhead and place the full message in the body.
Limits and common mistakes
These are built-in layouts. This version does not import a branded PDF template or a logo, and the signatory field is a printed name rather than a verified digital signature. Keep the wording accurate about what the certificate actually represents.
Check your downloaded result
Check the spelling of names, the date and the organization. A long title or message can change the page layout, so inspect the entire download and shorten text if the certificate becomes crowded. Preview a printed copy before making multiple copies.
Where processing happens
This tool sends your submitted content over HTTPS to the PDFDesk server. Results are returned directly; temporary processing files are removed when the request finishes. There are no public document download links.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make a business letter instead of a certificate?
Yes. Choose the portrait Letterhead layout and enter your letter in the message field.
Is the signatory field a digital signature?
No. It prints a name on the document. It does not add a cryptographic signature or verify the signer.
Can I upload my own PDF template?
This version uses built-in layouts. It does not accept an uploaded template or logo.
